I'm From the Government, and I'm Here to Help

Why is Michelle Obama so concerned about childhood obesity? She has vowed to rid the country of this plague. But, why? Does she want to make sure that those young, fat, future Democrats live long lives? Maybe.

In all actuality, it's about the same thing that's behind every liberal cause.... control. They love to tell the great unwashed what they should be doing. After all the libs are smarter than everyone else, so we really should heed their advice. We may be too dense to realize it, but, trust them, they know best.

You might think that the thousands of children in the U.S. that go hungry every day would be more of a pressing issue than the thousands of young tax credits that eat too much. You would be correct of course, but helping feed the poor and homeless kids would require some real work and effort, and, besides, their parents don't vote.

We can't expect the First Lady to mingle with the not-so-great unwashed down at the soup kitchen, can we? No, that's hard, dirty, unglamorous work. It's so much better to appear on Oprah, Ellen, The Today Show, and a few clean schools for the carefully scripted media ops. I'm sure she won't think twice about embarrassing some big boned kids on national TV.

It's going to be all about making her feel (and look) good. Nothing makes a liberal feel as good as having people actually listen to their commands. And, she'll certainly have some well scripted dog and pony shows where they trot out the big kids, tell them what they're doing wrong, hug them, and squirt a few tears.

This is just one more brick in the liberal progressive gulag that they're building, "If you can't take care of your children, we will!" Our public schools are doing all they can to force their socialist propaganda on our kids. Now, the Obamas want to make sure the children know that the government is going to take care of all their needs. From the womb, to the tomb.
